　　Days ago when I was doing my listening practice, I found my idea was quite different from the author’s. He insisted that family should be the first while I hold the opposite idea. Let me explain my opinion step by step.

　　前幾天當(dāng)我在做聽力練習(xí)的時候，我發(fā)現(xiàn)我的想法跟作者的是非常不同的。他堅持認(rèn)為，家庭應(yīng)該是第一個，我持相反的觀點(diǎn)。讓我一步一步的解釋我的觀點(diǎn)。

　　Drawing a conclusion to which one should be the first, career or family, we should depend on the following two aspects: Which one will do more to your life-long dreams and value; And which one promotes the development of society. It’s normal that there always be a conflict between career and family. However we should have an objective comment. That is which one gives more contribution. I wonder how can a family be permanent without the guarantee of career.

　　得出事業(yè)和家庭哪個更重要的結(jié)論，我們應(yīng)該取決于以下兩個方面：哪個對你一生的夢想和價值影響更大；哪個更能促進(jìn)社會的發(fā)展。在工作和家庭之間有沖突是很正常的。但是我們應(yīng)該有一個客觀的評論。那是哪一個付出的貢獻(xiàn)更多。我想知道如果沒有事業(yè)保障，一個家庭如何能永久的存在。

　　Talking about achieving our value, we ought to combine it with our needs. What we need includes three sides: The need of existance, the need of enjoying and the need of development. At this time, we must have a clear mind that career or family which one has more ability to satisfy these, which one is related to these from the beginning to the end. There is no doubt that the answer is career. Referring to the value of society, we automatically think of work and creation. I do agree that family have something to do with these sometimes, but the productivity it brings to us is far less than what the career gives. What is the resource of the develpoping society? Of course, productivity. And through which the improvement of productivity can be shown. The answer is career as well.

　　淺談實現(xiàn)我們的價值，我們應(yīng)該把它與我們的'需要結(jié)合起來。我們的需要包括三個方面：生存的需要，享受和發(fā)展的需要。在這個時候，我們必須有一個清醒的頭腦去判斷工作或者家庭哪個更能由始至終的滿足這些。毫無疑問，答案是工作。說到社會價值，我們很自然的會想到工作和創(chuàng)新。我同意家庭對于這些是有幫助的，但它給我們帶來的生產(chǎn)能力遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)比不上工作給我們帶來的。

　　發(fā)展中社會的資源是什么？當(dāng)然，生產(chǎn)力。通過提高生產(chǎn)率可以證明。答案也是工作。

　　When asked what is the final destination for our career, you may said because you want to support a big family. I think maybe this answer belongs to one of our destination, but not the final one. We pay more attention to our career mainly because we desire to do something to meet the need of our society.

　　當(dāng)被問及我們最終的事業(yè)目的是什么，你可以說是因為你要養(yǎng)活一個大家庭。我想也許這個回答是屬于我們的一個目標(biāo)，但不是最后一個。我們更關(guān)注我們的職業(yè)生涯主要是因為我們希望做一些事情來滿足社會的需要。

　　If a country wants to be more powerful, it needs creative thought and continuous work, which obviously comes from career. As our country becoming stronger, we become stronger, too. In the contrary, if we never put career first, how can a family exist without the support of the society.

　　如果一個國家要更強(qiáng)大，它需要創(chuàng)造性思維和不斷的工作，這顯然是來自職業(yè)生涯。隨著我們的社會變得越來越強(qiáng)大，我們自己也變得強(qiáng)大。相反的，如果我們不把事業(yè)放在第一，沒有社會的支持一個家庭如何能存活。

　　A person who really has a deep understanding of his value, he/she should fight for his career first!

　　Actually, the spirit of pursuing higher career is also the spirit we indicate in present day. No matter which period of age we are at, we should keep our passion for reaching the higher level. Only in this way can we really get self value.

　　Above is my statement for my opinion. Different people have different viewpoint. Some people, especially ladies, always think it’s their duty to do the housework and they are fated to be the housewives. Never will I agree. Doing more housework is OK for ladies but ladis should have independence. As a lady in 21th. Century, we ought to spare no effort to gain our position in the society. Therefore, I won’t get married until I have an achievement in my career!!

　　Most Chinese agree the family is undergoing tremendous change. But views on what that means run the gamut. Some feel society is headed for serious disorder due to a loss of values like sacrifice, family loyalty, and fidelity. Others see a better China emerging after a period of shakeout, with greater choice and maturity.

　　At one level, the fight is between traditionalists and progressives. Many of the former feel that an avaricious new money culture will corrupt China and send it into uncharted waters. They see women becoming sex objects and couples devaluing each other. They see the years from 1950 to 1980 as a stable period of happiness, when moral values were predominant and families found meaning in serving the state.

　　"The opening up of the 1980s is only now showing itself in the way wives and husbands are chosen," says Xia Xueluan, a professor at Beijing University. "Now, when a girl meets a boy the first question is, 'Do you have a house? Do you have a car?' This causes great strains in marriages, and on husbands, to produce income. I'm worried."

　　Progressives feel that few Chinese want to lose recent gains like choice. Both sexes are more liberated, they feel. In the past, marriage was limited by family background. Divorce was not allowed, often not even in abusive, dead-end situations.

　　"In the past, there was no money and people were forced to rely on others. The choice for a better life was simple: struggle for food and shelter," says Dong Zhiying with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. "We all lived together and ate at the same table; we had 'salty or sweet' depending on what was available. Now you can order your own dishes."

　　Many in China do feel problems with the money culture are underestimated, but don't want a return to state dictates in their private lives. They feel that an obsession with grades, colleges, and jobs has led parents to ignore a traditional emphasis on good behavior, modesty, and politeness. They are troubled by studies showing rising levels of early teen sex and recent cases of teens involved in homicides. They want a form of new moral education that teaches a humane social contract.
