Spring Festival the most important holiday for Chinese people. Excitement and happiness are palpable th time of the year, and they reach the peak on lunar new year‘s eve.
Though the 15-day period, which starts with the first day of the lunar new year and ends on the 15th day (known as Lantern Festival), relatively long, it the busiest time of the year for Chinese people. The arrangements they have to make for family reunions, buying necessities and preparing food keeps them busy throughout the holiday. Many of them travel back home and meet friends over dinner and drinks. The celebrations include decorating the house and setting off fireworks.
But we are talking about a tradition that seems to be fading.
Spring Festival, as it celebrated today, has undergone many changes, thanks to the country‘s economic development and globalization.
Yet no Spring Festival complete without food. People could not get good food whenever they desired in earlier times, something that does not apply to society today. More often than not, people faced the rk of famine. The best time for people to celebrate was when food was available in plenty, and that was possible in spring, or the beginning of the lunar new year. That was the main reason why Spring Festival acquired such great importance among Chinese people.
But three decades of economic growth has ensured that people in China, except for those who are still poor, can enjoy a good meal whenever they want. Such has been the change in people‘s fortune that some have to be treated for obesity and other health problems associated with excessive eating.
In the past, celebrations were limited to events like song-and-dance duets in North China, dragon/lion dances in South China and fireworks, which required the joint efforts of the entire community. But economic development and urbanization seems to have weakened the social links among people. Many, especially those living in cities, are not interested in celebrating the festival with people they hardly know.
Many customs associated with Spring Festival have changed, too. In the past, people used to vit relatives and friends with gifts and lots of good whes. Today, many people, especially the youth, use their cell phones or the Internet to send their good whes and even "gifts" to their relatives and friends. Some may say th a sign that people have become less caring about their near and dear ones, but we should see th development as a time- and energy-saving exerce granted by the information age.
In recent times, many people have started praying for a career promotion or more money instead of invoking God or the Buddha for a healthy and long life and the welfare of their family. But the number of such people decreasing now, which shows that people are becoming more reasonable.

In a burst of firecrackers, a burst of song and laughter, we finally ushered in the Spring Festival! The Spring Festival is the biggest festival in China and the happiest day for us. The lights were on and the streets were decorated with jubilant scenes. My father and mother also set up a new home in the morning, and bought the New Year's goods. I blinked my happy eyes and took a picture in front of the wardrobe mirror in my new clothes. It was really beautiful!
My father led me to stick the red couplets on the gate of the courtyard, and my house was filled with happiness. To my New Year's eve is the most warm night, the whole family sitting together for the scented dumplings, feel so warm in the heart, look at the colorful Spring Festival gala show, still waiting for the New Year's bell sounded...
On the morning of the first day of the New Year, relatives and friends came to visit. People greet each other, which is very lively. Mom and dad, grandpa and grandma, my mother gave me lucky money! At noon, relatives and friends gathered together, and it was a great pleasure to have dinner with them. The table is filled with all kinds of delicacies, including chicken, duck, fish, meat, and my favorite fish fillet. Everyone raised a cup of joy, and joy hung in everyone's face. Everyone offered to take a photo of him to be remembered. When his father took the camera and took a picture, everyone laughed and shouted, "cheese!" A face full of smiling faces...
At night, under the beautiful moonlight, my sisters and I lit the fireworks in our hands, and immediately burst out beautiful sparks, beautiful! Look at this beautiful scenery, listen to a burst of sparks, don't mention how happy!
A New Year is a new beginning. Let us cherish every minute and every second from now on, add a momentum, get a harvest!

"The new year, the New Year!" Guess what the sound is? By the way, this is the children's cheers.
I and my mom and dad finished the dumplings around the table and waited to see the Spring Festival Gala. At eight o'clock, we looked at it heart and soul. All of a sudden, there was a little money on the TV. The first man to step on the stage, I know who it is. I rubbed my eyes and looked at it carefully. Ah, it was Xiao Shenyang! At the moment, Zhao Benshan found Xiao Shenyang's pants in a trouser leg! My laughter. With his humorous language, I can't keep my mouth shut. Even the belly is itching. Look at mom and dad. They all show their white teeth.
This is unforgettable, I hope to be able to come to the next year's Spring Festival. I hope you can see a lot of fun next time. I really like Chinese New year!

For all Chinese, the Spring Festival is the most important day in the year. The celebration for it is very big, so people must do many preparations for it. The two most important things are cleaning and buying. People usually do thorough cleanings to welcome the coming New Year. It stands for a fresh start and people’s good wishes for the next year. Besides, because of the big celebration, we have to prepare many things. Therefore, purchase is essential. We buy foods for the big dinner, snacks and fruits for the holiday. Every family prepares a lot for it, so the market is alive at the end of the year. We can buy everything outside. Cleaning and buying have become traditions.
With the growing of the Internet, the biggest highlight of the Spring Festival to grab red envelopes on line.
Wechat’s gaining popularity helped Tencent took a head start in the combat with Alibaba, the leader of the Internet payment. What’s behind th was shrinking traditional customs: fireworks were no longer welcomed by the people. Instead, there needs a new custom to fill the blank. Grabbing red envelopes on line attracted thousands of people to join in by its fast, brand-new, and thrilling way to entertain. Sadly, what young people who traveled a long dtance to go back home did during the Festival was not to communicate with the elders but to hold their cellphones all day long , just in order to grab red envelopes and get some money. In th case, we can say msing better than seeing.
However, the custom of grabbing red envelopes which represents a good wh to the young has lost its real meaning. That to say, what really matters the relationship instead of the money.Essentially speaking, th phenomenon of grabbing red envelopes on line resulted from the heat love between money and the Internet. It’s the carnival of materialm, and nobody won except the Internet.
